The garden of approximately
⅙ acre (660 sq m) is in the conservation area of the world's First Garden City on a site sloping down from the street towards the back. When we moved here in early 2000 the garden was mainly laid to lawn and contained a large pond and old fruit trees. We converted the pond to a flower-bed in 2021, but the fruit trees are still a strong feature of the garden today. We have also terraced the garden, creating three levels with paths and steps joining the patio near the house to the very bottom of the garden.
